Mrs. Rani Perera - funeral details

Mrs. Rani Perera - A much loved & popular teacher of the 80's & 90's passed away a few days ago. She was highly instrumental in the rapid development of the Western Band from a basic melodica band to a fully equipped band with a lot of brass & woodwind. She also taught English & Music in the middle school. Her son Ravi Perera, Western Band leader & Chorister was also at STC & left in the early 80's.

Funeral Details:
SATURDAY, JANUARY 31, 2015
11:30 - Remains will lie at S. Thomas' College Chapel.
1:30 - Service at S. Thomas' Chapel.
3:00 - Service at Dehiwala Methodist Church (On Galle Road, opposite Frazer Avenue). Burial at Dehiwala Methodist Church Cemetary (Behind Church) soon after.

PERERA - RANI (former S. Thomas’ College staff). Wife of the late Gerald, loving mother of Ravi & Anushi (California), grandmother of Dimithri & Natasha, daughter of the late Vincent and Lily Mendis, sister of the late Soma Mendis, Rajah Mendis and Manel Kulasekere. Remains will lie at S. Thomas’ College Chapel from 11.30 a.m. on Saturday, January 31 and service at 1.30 p.m. in the chapel. Subject: Former Thomian teacher Mrs Rani Perera passed away this morning



Received the sad news of the demise of Mrs Rani Perera who passed away at the age of 85. She had had her dinner and later the carer noted she was coughing but had said she is okay. In the early hours of the morning she had been gasping for breath and then passed away peacefully.
Her only son Ravi is expected from the US on Friday and funeral details will be notified later.
Her body will lie at the Mahinda Florist Funeral Parlor Mt. Lavinia.

I meant Ranee Perera, who had the guts to come in to see me when Illangakoon was back in the saddle. A great and lovable lady

I have personally known Mrs Rani Perera at STC Mt Lavinia .

I also knew Gerald her late husband and also Ravi her son .

can you pls send Ravi's Email or even the tel number to send my condolences .

Ravi should remember me I was teaching in College at that time this is 1974 .
