Those who are in Perth, any clues as to the identity?

The term "Ara Soysa" famously touted at cricket and rugby matches came into being during an English Debate at Peradeniya in the early 1950s.
A pretty undergrad named Miss Soysa was giving "good as she got" to the male counterparts.
The male undergrads started shouting "Ara Soysa,Ara".She later on taught at Peradeniya and got married to an Economist and a fellow lecturer . Both lectured at University of Western Australia.
She still lives in Perth, husband having passed away sometime back.
